Bio
Mio Takahashi is a Japanese herbalist currently a PhD candidate supervised by Olivia Angé (ULB) and co-supervised by Valentina Bonifacio (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice) with her research on “Ethnobotanical landscapes of colors; (re) framing the plants and people relationships in plant dyeing field in Japan -Visible and invisible cultural senses beyond colors, a new experimental perspective on botanical dimensions-”. She holds an MA in Environmental Humanities from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy. Her research focuses on the relationships between plants and people, at the intersection of environmental anthropology and ethnobotany. She is interested in plant humanities and the cultural, social, ecological and traditional meanings of human-plant interactions. Until now she has held many workshops and lectures to connect plants and people both in Japan and Italy.
