AspirE - invitation to final Conference of the AspirE project - “Migration decision-making in Asia-Europe social spaces”
the Final Conference of the AspirE project :
"MIGRATION DECISION-MAKING IN ASIA-EUROPE SOCIAL SPACES"
Led by Asuncion Fresnoza-Flot, AspirE has gathered 13 teams across Europe and Asia to reply to 3 questions; how do migration regimes in the countries of origin and destination consider migrants’ behaviour in their policies? Why do people decide to (re)migrate or to stay? When do individuals’ migration decisions evolve? Over the past 3 years, our international team collected rich data combining in-depth interviews, video diaries, and collaborative methods to gain fresh insights into the aspirations and lived experiences of migrants. The final conference will bring together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and community voices to reflect on our findings, discuss their broader implications, and explore future directions. The programme will feature:
- Presentations of AspirE’s research outcomes
 - Roundtable discussions with our sister projects (2 other projects funded under the same EU call)
 - An exhibition showcasing materials collected during the project
 - Short documentaries (one video diaries and seasonal migration of Thai berry pickers in Finland)
 - Opportunities for dialogue and networking
